HESO 15 Performance

Heso. The navel. Your original source of life. Isn’t it time you give birth to something? Try a performance. An act in the present moment. But what kind of act, where and for whom? And for that matter, what in the world does it all mean? We aren´t entirely sure, and maybe it is best we don’t try to answer. But we do know a few performers, truly ground-breaking ones, so we feature them here for you. That, alongside complementary articles that will hopefully inspire you to take up the present moment, act and give more meaning to the world.
All this plus our other performers: Yamada Toshiyuki and Saeko Ichinohe, From Darkness, Light: a pastiche of a certain kind of performance-based images images you know you’ve seen before, amazing art from Iwamura Tomoe, the fun and informative Yokohama and Fukuoka Spotlights and of course Little Prigdoms. Check out our Music of Note, the Brew & A Flick column, and a book review on Ogai Mori’s Dancing Girl. All this is of course available on the site but to see the expanded version, to go behind the scenes, to get the full monty you’ve got to order the magazine HERE
