those who surrender freedom for service are parents!
but seriously, it is a great shame on “the land of the free” that money trumps truth or dignity, that we invade countries “pre-emptively,” overthrow other peoples elected leaders under the guise of spreading democracy, openly spy on our citizens and brand anyone who questions our corporate government or corporate media as traitors, wave made-in-china american flags while they unleash murderous false flag operations to further endless global war and further restrict human rights, lock anyone any so-called “terrorist” up indefinitely, with no charges or court date, while also continuing to lead the world in weapons sales, weapons stockpiling, weapons use, drone attacks, environmental destruction, debt, hubris, cheap thrills, soda pop, fear, cancer, celebrities, and just about every other shitty thing in the world. other than that, i’m proud to be a free (for now) american. god help us if there is one. amen.
Thanks for chiming in with so much well-written commentary. While we should be thankful for what we do have, “Freedom” is an ideal that likely will never completely be realized, if only for the redtape laden social bonds into which we are born, and have not the time nor the feduciary resources with which to extricate our flimsy, wishy washy selves. That said, we still persevere, day in day out. Small goals indeed.
